Look closely and one just might realize that Ho Chi Minh city is entangled in a web of winding alleys, wherein its people dwell, and bustle, underneath lined roofs. These houses, signature with cramped doorways and oddly-shaped plots, sprouted as the city’s unbridled urban growth bewitched more and more migrants from every corner of the country. Tiny house is one such building.

In the animated center of the city, the house lies enclosed by adjacent constructions. It’s shaped with two parts, the front a narrow pathway with a 1,8-metre frontage and the back an equal-sided lot. The house is to be suited to a family of six, thus obliging not only commune spaces but also respective private ones that serves their needs.

To accommodate these peculiarities, our architects had analyzed the plot’s ground elevation and empty spaces among surrounding architectures to secure optimal lighting to every corner, especially the staircase and toilets. The miniature oculi, further, brighten and forge a course of natural air throughout the house. Reflecting this thematic design, furnishing the space was tended towards a minimalist style using compact furniture while leveraging recesses under the beds and staircase as storage spaces. White paint dominated the view, complemented by bare bricks and pattern tiles. Structures such as gates, doors, porticoes and balconies share among them the use of punched metal sheets, versatile as they are in maintaining the airiness, upholding privacy and adding a highlight to the design

The construction has resolved the major handicaps posed by the shape and location of the house, building on its ground a fresh and orderly living space, tailored to the economic profile and lifestyle of the urban dwellers here.
