We organize international architecture & Design competitions.
Design competitions are an integral part of the architectural industry. Some of the greatest architectural icons are the result of competitions – from the Sydney Opera House to the Pompidou Center, the British Parliament to Parc de la Villette. Architectural competitions have been shown to function not only as a means to produce projects but also to yield ideas that have fundamentally changed architecture, pushing the industry forward. Our goal is to continue in that tradition while building an international network of design students and professionals.
Charette is a leading architecture competitions platform. We develop and host global design competitions. Our primary goal is to create and build a library of ideas created by and accessible to architects and designers everywhere. Ideas competitions are primarily academic exercises to foster the development of concepts focused on specific themes. We work with a diverse international and interdisciplinary jury to evaluate entries based not only on their ability to respond to a specific brief, but also to recognize outstanding examples of graphics, means of communication, and truly innovative thinking.
Our Story
Charette launched in 2020 in response to the first Covid-19 lockdown, providing an international platform for young architects and architecture students to compete in architecture design competitions that encourage the pushing of boundaries of what is accepted as the norm in architecture. Since then, we have seen participation from thousands of designers from all over the world! The website is run by a small group of zealous architects who are passionate about keeping the creative juices flowing in the architectural industry.
The practical professional world can discourage unique ideas. We fight that!

Our Values
Charette is committed to organizing equal and balanced juries representing a diverse range of professionals in terms of industry, gender, ethnicity, and country of origin.
Competition topics vary widely. We place particular focus on themes of affordable housing, sustainability, and small-scale architecture – topics we believe are critical and topical to the climate and urban crises the world faces today. This generation of designers is specially prepared to address and propose solutions to these problems. Charette aspires to be a resource, and a source of inspiration, for these ideas.
